LieLow Monster Ball
The night doesn’t end when the cabaret curtain falls. On October 31, the Fluid Fest Horror Show continues into the wee hours with the LieLow Monster Ball—a gloriously gothic mash-up of cabaret, live music, indie bands and Halloween mayhem.
A goth extravaganza with a little bit of everything, the evening brings LieLow’s love of indie bands from their Drumheller nest to the Lougheed Building in downtown Calgary for one fabulously strange Fluid Fest night. Expect live performance of all kinds: music, dance, theatre, animated objects, drag, irreverent comedy, performance art and whatever else crawls out of the creative shadows, followed by LieLow’s hand-picked musical lineup to keep the Monster Ball moving.
In this love child evening by Fluid Fest, LieLow and Camp, LieLow brings a wonderfully unruly, genre-crossing spirit to our arts scene—transforming it into part music festival, part gathering, part creative collision. A less than conventional concert where cabaret, contemporary performance, indie music, dancing and a healthy dose of weirdness can all occupy the same room.
No costumes required. Black lipstick is encouraged. Weirdness is welcome.
Fluid Fest has never believed in putting performance in a box, and Halloween is the perfect excuse to throw the box into the fire.
